FASHION FRIDAY // Keeping warm

It is getting really cold in Adelaide! You really need to keep warm so as you're reading this I hope you have a warm cup of tea or something.
The other day a couple of friends and I went to a café near South Terrace in the CBD for a bite to eat as well as hot beverages to keep warm. One of them needed to take photos for her blog (trulyvonne) and I thought I may as well do the same since the setting was really nice. We walked down a narrow street with rustic looking houses and snapped away.

Basically this outfit has been my day-to-day outfit, but my T-shirt and bottoms vary.

From ASOS, something I wear literally everyday is the Faux Fur Hooded Detachable Lined Parka in black. I can't even comprehend how warm it is and it looks good with everything. I really didn't want to jump on the bandwagon and get a parka but it really is a winter staple.

Another thing I wear daily is the Daisy print scarf by Miss Shop. It has been the scarf I've been searching for, for a very long time and it fits all the criteria:

   ☑ Viscose fabrication
   ☑ Warm
☑ Blanket style (long in length and thick in width)
☑ Wearable colour (in this case grey)
   ☑ Attractive pattern

The boots are from Kmart and to be honest, Kmart shoes are really underrated! Yes, I know that these boots won't last forever, but fashion comes and goes so next season, military boots might be out! Plus, Kmart shoes are surprisingly more comfortable than other brands and these lace-up boots are the only ones that I've tried on that looks good and doesn't suppress my (wide) feet. Also they were $20. I've been wearing these almost daily!

A special mention to Hause which my friend owns (check them out please!!!) which is the jersey I'm wearing along with a long sleeve shirt underneath. I've always loved their stuff and am super excited to get a new tee really soon!

And I'm wearing two pairs of leggings. The layer underneath is from Cotton On which are just the sport leggings and the textured knitted leggings on the top are from Kmart. I've been wearing two pairs of leggings around a lot because it is way too cold to just wear one pair.

Please stay warm (if you're in the Southern Hemisphere)! And if you're up in the Northern Hemisphere, lucky you.

I felt a bit adventurous with this look. I mainly used  the Napoleon Perdis palette including a pale grey, bright cobalt blue and a dark blue grey colour on my eyelids. It reminded me of the night sky - the lighter colour being the clouds blending with the dark night sky.

Let's get real

So it's almost been two whole months since my last post, and you might be wondering where I've been. It's easy for me to say that I've been too lazy, too busy or have no motivation/ideas for a new blog post. At times these have been true but deep down I know the true reason why.

I really don't know if I should keep this blog up, because I am still getting views every now and then and the posts I have written might be useful to people in the future, however I don't think I will be writing as often as a normal blogger should.

So here's the deal. I am really insecure with my body and sometimes my face too, because let's face it, I don't have a size zero body and for me, to be a respected beauty/fashion blogger you must have this certain quality. I can sit here and easily write review after review with hauls every now and then but there are days that I want to post up fashion and I am completely terrified to take pictures let alone upload them on here.
It's a struggle I've been going through for a long time - my whole life I haven't been skinny, and there have been times where I was at a good stage and relatively happy with my body and times where I'm at a bad stage where I can barely look at myself. Right now I'm at a bad stage. I find it really difficult to resist tempting foods and to keep up with exercise as well as cut back on eating out.
I really don't want to be called attention seeking or to receive people's positivity or optimism or whatever (although it is nice), I simply just needed to put it out there and maybe I can retain some form of motivation from this post.
