REVIEW // Australis AC ON TOUR Contouring & Highlighting Kit

So I haven't tried any contouring & highlighting palettes before except for testing a swatch of the Anastasia Beverley Hills contour kit but I heard really good things about the Australis contouring palette so during the Priceline sale I decided to purchase one.

I never really knew until I first tried it that everyday I actually contour my face, not bronze it. This is because I apply bronzer underneath my cheekbone rather than along it. I've always liked applying bronzer this way because I always noticed that my face would look slimmer and my cheekbones would look more prominent.

The Packaging 8/10
It's black, light and nice to look at. The only downfall is the quality of the packaging which is low in my opinion. But it isn't too big which is something I love about it. It's also really slim, but what palette isn't nowadays?

The Colours
There are three highlighting colours and three contouring colours. And they're all different for different skin tones, which is nice. I use the last highlighting colour as it's the only shimmery colour but it's also gorgeous and I use the middle contouring colour as it's the least orange/red looking colour. They're both fairly pigmented but most importantly are really blendable.
The other colours I rarely use and I can only think of using these if I am doing someone else's makeup.

The Product 8.5/10
Again, I haven't tried any contouring kits before, but I must say that I love this palette and use it on a daily basis. As the contouring colour is matte it creates a beautiful illusion of shadows on the face and the highlighter brings a gorgeous sheen on my cheek bones and other areas of highlighting.
Lastly, on the back of the palette there are directions on how to contour and highlight which I think was really useful!

Price/Value 9/10
You're really getting six products in one palette for RRP $16AUD but if you're lucky you can get on sale for $10AUD!

Uni Makeup

So Uni is back in play, and although it is already stressing me out, I don't want to stop blogging so here is what makeup I wear to Uni. I usually wear this or this without eyeliner - either way it's something like this.

I really don't like to wear foundation or anything heavy while being at Uni because with 9am starts I really want to spend as much time sleeping so this is a really quick makeup look that I do.

Starting with face products I use the Maybelline Instant Age Eraser Dark Circles Concealer + Treatment (to conceal the fact that I've hardly slept), the Fit Me powder (to set the conceal) and the Nars Laguna bronzer (to do a little bit of contouring/bronzing).

For eyes, I'd start with the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion (which I forgot to add in the photo) and use a neutral matte colour on top, the one I use is from this Napoleon Perdis eyeshadow palette. Next I line my eyes with the Eye Studio Master Precise Liquid Liner by Maybelline and do a small wing. While I wait for my eyeliner to fully dry I fill in my brows with the darkest shade (it's the grey-brown colour) from the Maybelline ExpertWear Eyeshadow Quad (Mocha Motion). Next I put on mascara - I do a base coat of Maybelline's Colossal (waterproof) mascara so my lashes stay curled, and do several coats of L'Oreal's new Mega Volume Miss Manga mascara on top. Lastly I apply the Essence white eyeliner pencil to the inner corner of my eyes to make myself look more awake.

And that's it! Usually it takes about ten minutes to do all of this, however this comes with practice!
I hope this helps you out with future quick and easy looks!

FASHION FRIDAY // OTRA x Melbourne Accessories

About a week ago, I went to the One Direction On The Road Again concert and it was a fantastic night! Before the concert I was with a wonderful friend of mine (Trulyvonne) and I took her to a beautiful spot in Adelaide and we snapped away. It's been awhile since we've done this since we've been so busy (travelling interstate and such). I really love this spot (sorry it's a secret) but I think you can have a pretty awesome view of Adelaide even though it's in the middle of the city.

So I wore a short-in-length sleeveless top that is a light denim colour with white polka dots as well as these black high-waisted shorts. Both of these items I bought from Kmart and are both really comfortable which is what I wanted to be during the concert - comfortable. The shoes I'm wearing a plain white canvas casual shoes by The Hundreds - I love these shoes because I don't own any other white shoes so I they work with so many outfits but also they look wide and have a lot of lace holes so they look different compared to other canvas shoes.

If you read my more recent posts I went to Melbourne! And Melbourne is AWESOME for shopping - I bought a tonne of clothes but these accessories I bought are my favourite purchases.

RALPH by Ralph Lauren RA5160 Sunglasses with black frames and grey to black gradient lens

If you're like me, you probably don't know what kind of sunglasses suit your face. Since Raybans are so popular, my boyfriend bought me a pair of them for Christmas one year. Although I love them, they unfortunately don't suit my face, so I went to a sunglasses store and ask them what ones suited my face and they told me these Ralph Lauren ones would. As soon as I put them on, I was sold.

Daisy Japan Blue Planet digital watch in white

Secondly, this white digital watch. Surprisingly it was only $2.80 from a shop called Daiso where everything is $2.80. I think this watch looks so cool and suits almost every outfit out there. I like that it stands out because it's white and it doesn't look wicked cheap.

Michael Kors Selma Mini Messenger Bag in tan

Lastly, my new handbag from Michael Kors. I am a huge fan of Michael Kors things and this bag has been on my wish list since mid last year. Even though it was pretty expensive I use it daily and love the look and quality of it!

Summer

Despite it being the holidays, I have been even more lazy to upload blog posts! I kind of know the reason - I've always had a hard time uploading pictures of myself in summer clothing. BUT YOU KNOW WHAT, I love my bathing suit, and I love my friends and the beach. I don't want to hide myself away from the world during Summer because honestly I shouldn't be ashamed of my body. I am not thin, and I know that, and I accept it too.
Although Summer is almost over it's the perfect time to accept your body!
Here are some pictures of me at the beach with a couple of friends

I hope you have had an incredible summer holidays filled with adventure and, most importantly, fun!

I will be putting up posts more often now that I will have more of a routine =)

Travel Makeup Kit

This Thursday I'm heading off to sweet Victoria for a little trip. I thought I would tell you what products I'm bringing to Melbourne! I'm going to be in Melbourne for 6 days, so I need to try and pack what I think I will need for those 6 days.

FACE PRODUCTS

Nars - Sheer Glow Foundation in Punjab
Nude by Nature - Natural Tinted Mineral Moisturiser in Nude Beige
Maybelline - Instant Age Rewind Eraser Concealer in Medium
Maybelline - Fit Me Pressed Powder in Creamy Natural
Nars - Bronzer in Laguna
Nars - Blush in Orgasm
Benefit - Watt's Up Highlighter

Not only are these products really good, but they are also travel friendly. I've picked pressed powders for my powder, blush and bronzer because they are slim and easy to bring and pack. I think this Benefit highlighter sample is so cute and efficient! It's actually really, really small so obviously I have to bring it with me. The concealer, tinted moisturiser and foundation are my number 1 products and I couldn't bear to part with them for 6 days.

EYE PRODUCTS

Lorac Pro - Palette
Nude by Nature - Behind The Scenes Eye Primer
Maybelline - Master Precise Liner in Blackest Black
UBU - Wicked Winks Eyelash Curler
Maybelline - Volum' Express The Mega Plush Waterproof Mascara
Maybelline - Volum' Express The Colossal Waterproof Mascara

So I recently got the Lorac Pro Palette, and I love it so much! It has a huge selection of matte colours which I think I'll be using the most while in Melbourne. The matte colours are great for filling in eyebrows so that's why I chose this palette. I'm bringing two mascaras as the Mega Plush (despite it's name) isn't very volumising or lengthening but makes the lashes look really natural while keeping them curled. The Colossal mascara is a lot more dramatic.

LIP PRODUCTS

Revlon - Colorstay Moisture Stain in London Posh
Australis - Velourlips Matte Lip Cream in Noo'd Fighters

I'm bringing two nude shades to my trip because I find them the easiest to wear and maintain. I recently bought this Velourlips lip cream and I'm obsessed! The colour is so nice, and the combination of matte and a bit of shimmer is something different.
