2014 Favourites

So I know we're well into January, however I thought I'd tell you my favourite products of 2014. Now, when I say favourites, I mean favourite items that I bought or received in 2014.

NUDE BY NATURE
Natural Tinted Mineral Moisturiser in Nude Beige

I use this tinted moisturiser on days where I want a more natural makeup look, it isn't at all full coverage or anything, actually I would say it's pretty much sheer but it evens out my skin tone and it's really nourishing.

NARS
Sheer Glow Foundation in Punjab

I'm sure that you've heard of the amazingness of this foundation and the reviews aren't wrong. I can't say for other skin types but this works really well with mine and has plenty of coverage. Although you can apply with your fingers, I use a brush and it blends out really easily. Plus two pumps is all I need for all day coverage!

MAYBELLINE
Instant Age Rewind Eraser Concealer in Medium

All I can say is that this is my Holy Grail under eye concealer. It conceals my dark circles so well without it looking caked; I will literally wear this every time I decide to wear makeup, minimal or full coverage.

NARS
Bronzing Powder in Laguna

This product is really good whether you want light or heavy contouring. It’s really easy to blend as well as buildable. The colour is suitable for all skin tones I think, especially since it isn’t an orange-y colour.

FACE OF AUSTRALIA
Lumi-Tint Illuminating Stick in Santorini Dip

I use this product as a highlighter and I love it because it's a pretty good dupe for Nars The Multiple and for a way cheaper price. It does its job but after more research it's suitable for sensitive skin and it contains super good stuff like Jojoba oil and Vitamin E. This is limited edition so grab one ASAP (if you want it).

NARS
Blush in Orgasm

This blush is a really good for everyday wear as it is a beautiful pink colour but has gold particles as well to produce a great shine on the cheeks. I must admit I prefer the e.l.f. dupe as it’s less pigmented and easier to apply, but out of all the blushes I bought in 2014, Orgasm is definitely on the top of the list.

MAYBELLINE
Eye Studio Master Precise Liquid Liner in Blackest Black

So, I cannot believe I didn’t use this product earlier! I heard great things, but I always thought that more expensive products would be better but my, oh, my was I wrong. This eyeliner is so incredible! It’s super pigmented and really easy to use. The tip doesn’t fray like other liquid eyeliners and the flow is continuous.

REAL TECHNIQUES
Expert Face Brush

I cannot get over how good this brush is! It's really dense so it makes buffing on foundation really easy to do and it feels so good. Expert Face Brush > Stippling Brush.

JUICY COUTURE
Viva La Juicy

So I bought this perfume in August and I have been wearing it everyday ever since! It's smell is absolutely addictive and really good for the spring/summer season because it smells of berries, vanilla and jasmine.

MAKE UP FOR THE DAY // Naked Basics Palette Look

So I've had the Naked Basics Palette for awhile now and I've never really done a eye makeup look using just the palette. I thought I would do a little experiment with it and show you guys what I came up with.

If you didn't already know the palette is made up of 6 eye shadow colours of neutral colours. It consists of 4 matte colours (Foxy, W.O.S., Naked 2, and Faint) and 2 slightly glittery colours (Venus and Crave). The palette is nice and compact (perfect for travel) and includes a big mirror for on-the-go makeup looks.

REVIEW // Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain

So in 2014 Revlon released these lip stains, and since I'm a fan of Revlon lip products AND lip stains, I was really excited to try these out. For someone who hates touching up, these probably shouldn't be the greatest product for me considering they're very creamy in texture not liquid-y like most stains. However I love these products so much I'm a little addicted.

The colours I have so far are London Posh (050), LA Exclusive (010), Barcelona Nights (015), and Parisian Passion (005).

The Packaging 9/10

I love this packaging because it's unique and it has a modern feel to it as it looks boxy. I can't help but display these products because of the minimalistic look to it as each edge is lined with black. The doe foot applicator makes it easy to apply and with a sharper point to define the cupid's bow of the lips.

The Product 8/10

Still not perfect I have to say, I just got to admit to myself that there won't ever be a lip stain out there that stays on for the whole day! It is a very good lip product that no doubt gives you enough colour without too much reapplication. I wouldn't say that it 'stains' the lips but it does have great staying power and the more brighter and darker colours such as Barcelona Nights and Parisian Passion leave a slight tint after removing the product. The thickness makes it a little harder to apply but with good practice it will look really good on the lips. It's not too glittery or glossy which is something I love about it. Lastly, it isn't drying; something that is really important to me when it comes to lip products, IT'S SUPER MOISTURISING.

(London Posh, LA Exclusive, Barcelona Nights, Parisian Passion)

The Colour

London Posh 9/10

This is an easy everyday kind of colour. It is kind of nude so I generally wear this when my eye makeup is a bit more intense, but it still works as a everyday lip colour. I constantly keep this in my bag because I know it's the first colour I'll run to for any makeup look!

LA Exclusive 8/10

This colour I would describe as Barbie pink. It's cute and I think it'll be wonderful for Summer. I just bought this so I'm excited to wear it for the next few months!

Barcelona Nights 7/10

I don't like this colour as much just because it's so bright. It is a bright pink colour that I wear only when I'm feeling bold. It's still beautiful, but I usually combine this colour and the Parisian Passions to create a new colour.

Parisian Passions 9/10

This colour I am in love with, it makes me want winter back! It's a deep berry colour and it is really suitable for winter, especially since the product is super hydrating!

Overall 9/10

I believe this product is a great everyday lip product as it has a pretty big range of colours that can suit any occasion. The product is of good quality and is an affordable product, especially when there are almost always sales at Chemist Warehouse, Priceline, Target, etc. on Revlon lip products. I have bought all these colours well under the RRP (below $15AUD), which is about $22AUD.
